Kabul blast leaves one dead

AT-KABUL: Head of Human Resource Department of the Wolesi Jirga or Lower House of the Parliament, Khalillullah Oraikheel, was killed and three others wounded on Friday in an explosion in the capital Kabul.

An official at the Wolesi Jirga, Abdul Ghafar, confirmed to Afghanistan Times that the head of the HR department was killed.

Interior Ministry spokesman Seddiq Seddiqi said that one civilian killed and three others received injuries after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), placed in a Corolla-model vehicle, went off in Kot-e-Sangee, fifth police jurisdiction.

This was second attack in Kabul this week after deadly Dehmazang in which dozens of innocent people were killed and wounded.

More than 80 peaceful protestors were killed and 231 others received injuries after a suicide bomber targeted demonstration in Dehmazang area of Kabul.

The Islamic State, which is also known as Daesh, took responsibility for the attack.
