Kabul-Sharja air corridor opened

KABUL: The Ministry of Economy and Industry has announced the air corridor between Kabul and Sharjah city of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), that has been operationalize Monday.

The ministry in a statement said that more than two tons of apricot has been exported to the Sharjah via first cargo flight from Kabul.

This comes as President Ashraf Ghani after his tripe to UAE said that the country is ready to buy all Afghan saffron and establish air corridor with Afghanistan.

Afghanistan has so far established its air corridor with India, Kazakhstan, Turkey Saudi Arabia and some European countries to improve its economical levels.

Meanwhile, over 7,000 tons of goods have been exported to countries across the world via these air corridors.
