Kandahar attack leaves 11 children dead
By Farhad Naibkhel-KABUL: At least 11 children were martyred and 26 others including five Romanian soldiers were wounded after a car bomber targeted a military convoy in southern Kandahar province on Monday morning, provincial officials said.
Kandahar Police Spokesperson Ahmad Zia Duranai said a car bomb blew off near a mosque to target a convoy of Romanian troops in Mullah Abdullah village of Daman district in Kandahar. He iterated that eleven children lost their lives and 26 others including five Romanian soldiers and two policemen took injuries.
A number of women and children were among the injured.
The suicide bombing was near a mosque where children were studying religion at the same time. The car was heavily laden with explosives and smashed the mosque’s walls.
