Kapisa elders laud Karzai for patience

AT-KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday met with some religious scholars, tribal elders and influential figures from eastern Kapisa province at his office.

During the meeting, Farooq Khan, on behalf of other participants, praised Karzai for his patience and wise leadership. The meeting took place after an audience shouted against Karzai during a ceremony to mark the 5th death anniversary of former head of High Peace Council Burhanuddin Rabbani.

At the end of the meeting, Karzai wrapped some sweets in a Herati handkerchief and sent it to Sayed Hakim and his family as a gift.

Sayed Hakim is the person who shouted slogan against Karzai during the ceremony held in Loya Jirga tent to commemorate Rabbani’s death anniversary.

Meanwhile, former President Hamid Karzai also met with a number of youths from southern Nangarhar province at his office. Karzai encouraged Nangarhar youths to strive for national unity and asked them to work for unity.
