AT-KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai attended Sunday a book fair in Turkey by the request of ex-president of the country Abdullah Gul.
Turkish President Rajab Tayeb Erdogan and Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim were also present in the ceremony which was held in Kayseri city.
Meanwhile, the former prime minister of Turkey Ahmad Dawood Oglu invited Karzai for a breakfast and granted him with specials local food.
It is worth to mention that relations between Afghanistan and Turkey are moving ahead with tandem. Turkey is helping the Afghan government in various fields including the peace process. Turkey is also founder of the Heart of Asian-Istanbul Process on Afghanistan. The process is aimed to garner regional support for reconstruction and development of Afghanistan.
The two countries share religious, historic and cultural ties. Turkey has played important role in improving security and stability in Afghanistan. Kabul lauded the economic and political cooperation extended by Turkey. Ankara has provided scholarships to tens of Afghan students.
