Karzai saddened over Anwari’s death

Former President Hamid Karzai visited Wednesday the family of late General Sayed Hussain Anwari to pay tribute and condolences to his relatives.

Karzai said late Anwari was a “prominent and influential jihadi and political figure” and his death was like a tragedy for his followers.

Separately, Karzai met with a number of tribal elders and religious scholars, his office said.

Maulana Jalaluddin Shinwari spoke on behalf of the others, sharing the current conditions and problems of his area.

Karzai said he would spare no efforts to cooperate for the solution of the locals’ problems.
