Kidnapped man rescued in Faryab

KABUL: The Afghan National Police (ANP) have rescued an abducted man and detained one kidnapper in northern Faryab province, provincial official said Sunday.

The Ministry of Interior in a statement said the kidnapped individual was rescued in an operation conducted by the national police on Saturday in Pashton Kot district of Faryab.

The statement said the freed man was kidnapped on Thursday in 2nd PD of Maimana the capital city of the province.

According to the statement the kidnapped victim had been transferred to Pashton Kot district of the province and detained inside a well for two days.

According to statement one AK-47, grenade bombs, several wireless with some other military ammunition were seized during crackdown.  

Abducting has become frequent in the recent years as about two months ago, in capital Kabul, a six years old girl was kidnapped and killed after her family was unable to pay the ransom demanded by the kidnappers.
