By Basir Qazizada: The battle between security forces and Taliban insurgents reached its sixth day in Kunduz city in which over 100 Taliban have been killed so far, officials said Saturday.

“Clearance operation is strictly going on by Afghan forces in and around the city of Kunduz and 140 Taliban were killed and over 60 others wounded during operation last night,” said an army officer in the province, Mahfozullah Akbari.

He said that Taliban were pushed back from second district and Sherkat areas.

“Afghan forces continue operation toward Charkhab area,” he added.

He said that 14 Afghan forces were killed and 19 others wounded during operations.

He stated Taliban fighters had killed a number of civilians for working with the government organs.

“A large number of families who were forced by Taliban to leave their houses displaced in the areas under control of Taliban,” he added.
