Abdul Zuhoor Qayomi-KABUL: The Office of Administrative Affairs and Council of Ministers Secretariat (OAACoMS) on Tuesday termed lack of coordination between the government organizations as a major reason responsible for snail-paced work on developmental projects.
Chief Staff of the Council of Ministers Secretariat, Abdul Moein Moein, in a meeting with different government organizations said that there is need for improved coordination between the relevant departments to execute uplift schemes successfully and on time.
Though, he did not provide exact figures about the uplift schemes that have been delayed due to lukewarm response of the authorities, he said that if coordination was not improved, the projects could not be completed despite spending the budget.
The cabinet ministers would soon visit the provinces for strengthening “social relations” and monitoring of the development projects. There are different projects that remained incomplete in the previous government but the National Unity Government (NUG) is trying to complete these, he said.
The ministers would also meet with locals in order to create better coordination between the citizens and the government, he said.
He accepted that corruption was still rampant in the government departments. The chief staff claimed the NUG was serious in the fight against corruption.
Deputy Minister of Public Works, Ahmad Shah Waheed, termed such meeting useful and said that it would pave ground for better coordination between the state organizations.
