Literacy courses begin to cover 400,000 people

KABUL:  Ministry of Education (MoE) has planned to provide literacy training programs to 400,000 people across the country this year. MoE will establish 16,000 literacy training courses throughout the country, said a statement issued by MoE.

Through these literacy training 400,000 people over 15 years would be covered with an opportunity to become literate.

Some 60 percent of the established centers would be allocated to women, the statement added.

According to statement, out of 16,000 literacy programs, 3400 of them would be established in governmental organs including ministries of Defense and Interior based on agreement which was signed with them.  

Deputy Department of literacy training would enroll 32,000 persons out of 400,000 for training classes, underlined the statement.
