Militants attack ANP checkpoint in Bamiyan

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A group of militants stormed a security checkpoint of Afghan National Police (ANP) in central Bamiyan province, said an official source in the province.

Bamiyan Police Chief, Khudayar Qudus, said that a swamp of militants attacked a checkpoint of ANP in Shibar district of the province on Tuesday morning. He said that the clashes are still going on. He said that one policeman has sustained injury in the clashes.

Qudus said that they have sent backup troops to the area. He told TOLOnews that the militants attacked the check post from three different points.

This attack came only five days after that a group of more 200 militants stormed checkpoints of Afghan army in Jurm district of Badakhshan province killing 28 troops and several others are missing. The militants also beheaded several army soldiers.

It is worth mentioning that Bamiyan is considered as one of the volatile provinces of Afghanistan.
