AT-KABUL: Consistent with a new policy to safeguard ancient relics, Ministry of Mine and Petroleum inked a pact with Ministry of Culture and Information to protect all ancient relics in Mes Aynak copper mine in Logar province.

The agreement is aimed at fostering mutual cooperation, protecting and transferring ancient relics and making excavations more effective, said a statement by the ministry of mines.

According to it,acting Minister of Mine and Petroleum Narges Nehan has assessed eight volunteer processes and projects of mining particularly the four aspects of the Mes Aynak scheme in order to protect ancient relics.

Based on agreement MoMP will provide equipment to the MoCI for digging and discovery of ancient relics in the Mes Aynak mine, MoMP will pave the ground for MoCI in the aspect of digging and transferring of ancient relics from the red point zone in Mes Aynak. Also both will cooperate to run awareness program for people and provide accessibility facility to the media outlets in the area.
