AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A Russian delegation will soon visit Kabul for bolstering up mutual trade ties between Afghanistan and Russia, Afghan officials in chamber of commerce and industries said the other day.
Kabul will ink a contract with Russian officials on Afghanistan’s fresh and dry fruits export aimed at finding way how to reach it to the Russian markets, officials said.
Deputy of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI), Khan Jan Alkozai, said that Russian delegation following their arrival to Kabul would sign a contract on Afghanistan’s fresh and dry fruits.
“Talks on improving mutual trades have kicked off two years ago,” Alkozai said, referring to the mutual trade ties between Kabul and Moscow.
At the meantime, Minister of Commerce and Industries’ spokesman Musafer Qudandi said that discussion on exporting fresh and dry fruits to Russia was started two years ago.
“After discussion now we will sign contract with Russian officials once they reach Kabul,” he said.
An Afghan economy expert, Taj Mohammad Talash, called on the government to make utmost efforts to improve trade ties with Russia.
“Upon arrival of Russian officials to Kabul it would be a great opportunity for Afghanistan to reach its products to the Russian markets,” he said.
He added that after war vent in Ukraine and also increasing tension in relations between Russia and Turkey, Moscow has decided to buy fresh and dry fruits from Afghanistan.
Previously Russia was used to import fresh fruits from Turkey and Europe.
