NDS chief Nabil steps down

AT-KABUL: The chief of National Directorate of Security (NDS), Rahmatullah Nabil stepped down on Thursday. His resignation was approved by the National Unity Government whereas unnamed sources said that General Massoud Andarabi was appointed as acting NDS chief. General Andarabi was Nabil’s deputy. Nabil was reappointed as an acting NDS chief following a suicide attack in Kabul on 06 December 2012 that targeted the then head of NDS, Asadullah Khalid.

The resignation of Nabil has reportedly been accepted by the government but the officials have not formally confirmed the report so far.

Nabil won vote of confidence from the parliament with 154 votes, 58 against, 22 ballots blank, and nine invalid, in January 2015.

Shortly after the Pak-Afghan leaders agreed to revive the controversial Afghan peace talks, Nabil issued a rare statement late Wednesday night, posted on his official Facebook page.

Nabil said the innocent Afghan civilians were martyred and beheaded in Kandahar airfield, Khanshin district of Helmand, Takhar and Badakhshan at the same Nawaz Sharif was delivering his speech, once calling the enemy of Afghanistan as Pakistan’s enemy.

In parts of his message, Nabi,l was apparently criticizing President Ghani for his remarks in Islamabad the other day, saying: “At least 1,000 liters of blood of our innocent people spilled. “The color of the blood was similar to the red carpet where we did a cat walk,” he said. But the one who was present with us in the summit made an announcement from Quetta city of Pakistan under the name of Taliban, using the ISI computer to claim the glory. And we became so much apprehended and excited with 21- gun salute that we agreed regarding the execution of 40 assaults against the enemies of Pakistan and promised to soon launch a large operation against Mullah Fazlullah in a bid to keep our 60-year-old friend glad.”

Frustrated with the growing interference of Pakistan in internal affairs of Afghanistan and President Ghani’s approach, Nabil questioned regarding the 5000-year-old history of Afghanistan saying it has kneeled to a 60-year-old history.

Nabil also added that the Pakistani Taliban chief Mullah Fazlullah has been residing in Pakistan and ISI guesthouses during the past several months and years, insisting that Mullah Fazlullah is part of ISI projects.

Mullah Akhtar Mansoor had been enjoying the escort and legion of ISI bodyguards in presence of Colonel Rana—his fake name “Rabbani”. They were busy drawing future plans to kill our innocent people in Quetta’s bypass area, Pakistan.

And Sarajuddin Haqqani was enjoying a party of his son from his third wife in Hayatabad area of Peshawar Pakistan.

Thanks God I was not present there.
