NDS foils terror attack in Charikar

AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Tuesday that a terror plot was thwarted in the Charikar city, the provincial capital of the northern province of Parwan.

Intelligence operatives succeeded to arrest a suicide bomber before he manages to carry out a suicide attack using a motorbike packed with explosives.

The arrested insurgent was identified as Mohammad Khan son of Omar Khan he planned to carry out suicide attack in crowded Bazar in the province.

He confessed that he lead by Maulawi Manaf one of commander of Taliban insurgents for terrorist attack.

The Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report.

This comes as the intelligence operatives thwarted a coordinated suicide attack plot by the Taliban militants group in eastern Laghman province, NDS said Monday.

NDS further added that a group of three terrorists belonging to Taliban group were arrested before they manage to carry the attack in Mehtarlam city, the provincial capital.

Separately, the intelligence operatives succeeded to discover a cache of ammunition in north-eastern of Kapisa province.

“Eight grenade launchers, 12,000 rounds, two military suits have been seized.” The statement concluded.
