NDS foils terror bid in Kabul

AT-KABUL: National Directorate of Security (NDS) claimed to have thwarted a terror bid in Kabul.

The NDS in a statement issued on Friday said that operatives of the spy agency arrested a suspected terrorist who wanted to detonate an explosive laden vehicle in one of the key areas of Kabul city.

The statement added that security forces have arrested three militants in western Herat province. The arrested men were identified as Nasrullah, Nesar Ahmad and Sayed Ahmad. The three arrested men were residents of Angil district of the province. According to the statement arrested militants were involved in subversive activities in Herat. The NDS operatives have also recovered two machine guns from the suspected militants.

“Three other militants have been arrested in eastern Nangarhar province,” the statement said. It added that the arrested men were identified as Noorani, Enayatullah and Rozuddin.
