AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives rescued a teenage boy kidnapped in Khost province and arrested four suspects, an NDS official said.
“The 15-year-old boy was kidnapped 27 days ago from the Lakano area on the outskirts of Khost city,” said the NDS provincial director Col. Barakatullah. “The boy was kidnapped for ransom, but we released him before his family gave the money.” He added that the boy was released during an operation launched Wednesday night, in which four suspects were detained.
“We finally rescued the child after serious of operations and sent the culprits behind bars,” he told reporters.
The father of released boy who is a businessman in United Arab Emirates, thanked and lauded the the NDS personnel for their efforts in releasing his son from abductors.
Kabul police rescued two children from kidnappers during a special operation in Kabul late January. Two men and a woman were detained in connection with abduction.
Kabul police chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi said: “When we were rescuing one child we knew was kidnapped, we saw another child who was also there and rescued him too.” Moreover, he assured to arrest those involved in “this evil practice”.
