New governors assigned to Kandahar, Nangarhar

KABUL: The Independent Directorate of Local Governance announced on Monday that Hayatollah Hayat and Shah Mahmood Miakhil were appointed by President Ghani as new governors for the provinces of Kandahar and Nangarhar respectively.

Hayat was previously serving as Nangarhar governor, while Miakhil was working at an institute involved in peace affairs.
