Taimani gets DSL service
KABUL: Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology (MoTIT) extended Digital Telephone line and DSL internet services to Taimani area of Kabul.
Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology, while addressing the inauguration ceremony of newly installed exchange on Sunday said that the station would have the capacity of 8,500 lines. “The project was completed at the total cost of $2.5 million funded by development budget of the ministry.”
He said the station beside Taimani would cover Wazir Abad, Arya Township, Nawad Family, Police Township, Parwan-e-Do and Parwan-e-Seh areas.
He added that besides telecommunication the station would provide high speed internet facility to the users.
“The ministry has distributed 250,000 digital lines countrywide so far, out of which 100,000 are distributed in Kabul city,” he informed. “Currently only Kart-e-Naw area is deprived from the facility and we are intended to exert our utmost efforts to extent the services soon to the area.”
Chairman of Afghan Telecom Zones, Eng. Muhammad Sahrif said that price of digital communication service was affordable.
