Afghanistan Handicapped cricket team loses against Pakistan
KABUL: Pakistan defeated Afghanistan’s handicapped cricket team the other day in its debut match by eight wickets in the opener game of three-match T20 cricket series at Shalimar Cricket Ground of Islamabad.
Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the decision did not prove good for them as they were all out for just 67 runs in 15 overs. Ashraf made 20 runs and Jehanzeb 12 runs.
Pakistan’s Kashif got three wickets, while Fayyaz and Shujaat each took two wickets. Pakistan achieved the target in just seven overs for the loss of two wickets. Adeel scored 32 runs, Junaid made 13 runs, while Altaf and Saqib 8 and 7 runs, respectively. Kashif was declared man-of-the-match for his brilliant bowling.
Spokesman of ACB, Nasratullah Wafa said that ACB was unaware of the team’s tour to Pakistan. “The team may have gone to Pakistan on its own expenses or may be an NGO sponsored them.”
It is pertinent to mention that Afghan female cricket team two weeks ago left for Tajikistan without permission of ACB. In this regard, ACB warned all organizations that are working in field of cricket to register themselves with cricket board, or will face serious action.
