3 Italian soldiers injured in Badghis attack
KABUL: Three Italian soldiers were wounded in an insurgent attack on their convoy in the Bala Murghab district of northwestern Badghis province, an official said on Friday.
The troops came under the bomb-gun attack on their way to the district to assist a US unit that had been stranded by an accident, a spokesman for Italian troops, Col. Francisco, told reporters.
He said the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and their condition was stated to be stable. Italy has 3,800 soldiers in Badghis and Herat province. So for 47 of them have been killed.
Since the start of this year, 272 foreign troops have been killed in various parts of the country. The dead included 210 Americans.--(PAN)
