AT News Report-KABUL: Following allegations of the Parliament’s first deputy speaker about faults in the national budget, the finance ministry has assured that this year’s budget was prepared in line with international standards and without any contradiction.
Hamayoun Hamayoun, first deputy speaker of the Lower House, had told earlier that the finance ministry’s budget draft for this year was contradictory. He also had previously slung accusations on the finance minister saying he orchestrated a major alteration in the national budget draft.
However, the spokesperson to the finance ministry, Ajmal Hamid Abdul Rahimzai, said that the national budget was a flawless document which the cabinet had approved following painstaking negotiations.
The national budget received a majority vote in the parliament and was approved after thorough discussions during the past winter. And the cabinet approved the budget for 2018 on November 2017, later referring it to the Upper House which approved it within a fortnight.
