Pakistani soldiers clash with stranded Afghans in Chaman

KABUL: Pakistani soldiers clashed with hundreds of stranded Afghans alongside the Durand-Crossing in Chaman area.

The Afghans stranded across the Durand-crossing for many days and are struggling with shortage of food and living materials, according to the reports. The blockage of the Spin-Boldak port comes due to the Taliban overrun of the port and Pakistani government’s decision. 

According to the reports, the physical dispute occurred after an old man passed away due to a heart attack, who was waiting for reopening of the gate to enter into Afghanistan.

Reports said, the stranded people on the other side of the so called Durand line, calling on the Pakistani officials to reopen the gate after the old man died.

Not receiving a positive reply from the Pakistani officials, people began throwing stones on Pakistani forces.

The gate was reopened on the face of passengers on Saturday morning.
