KABUL: Afghan National Police has rescued a five years old child from kidnapper, the ministry of interior said, adding the boy had been earlier abducted from Alishir district of southern Khost province.

The security forces had detained one kidnapper, who confessed his involvement in the abduction, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

The child reunited with his family members, read the statement.

While the Afghan government is seeking to find a solution for the country’s security situation with conducting massive operations against the militants, the citizens have been suffering from criminal activities such as abduction, robbery and drug dealing, which have often posed high challenges in the country.
