Policemen among seven killed in Ghazni

AT-KABUL: At least seven people including two policemen were killed after a group of the Taliban fighters attacked a civilian house in southern Ghazni province on Saturday morning, said officials.

Governor’s spokesman Shafiq Nang said the Taliban insurgents attacked a house in Gandir area of Andar district early morning and gun down father and his seven years old son.

Local militiamen shortly after the incident rushed to the area. In the clash between the two sides, three uprisers and five Taliban militants were killed, he said.

Police forces reached to the area to support the local people, where two policemen were also killed, the spokesman added. Four other Taliban fighters were wounded in the area, he claimed. Currently the area is under control of the Afghan security forces and militants had fled the area.
