KABUL: Powerful political leaders gathered Saturday to discuss what they called “electoral crisis and peace process”.
The meeting was held at the residence of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, leader of Hezb-e-Islami in which Hamid Karzai, Karim Khalili, Abdullah Abdullah, Mohammad Mohaqqeq, Salahoddin Rabbani, Anwarul Haq Ahadi and Batur Dostum attended and emphasized that some practical steps would be taken to save the country from electoral crisis.
Hekmatyar who is also running for presidency, said that the final result of election was full of fraud and faced the country to a fresh crisis. Hekmatyar added that presidential candidates and political leaders were working on practical measures to save Afghanistan from the crisis made by the election results.
Another presidential hopeful Abdullah Abdullah, said no politician accepts the result announcement and they urged this in their recent meeting.
The political leaders also discussed the latest developments on peace process. They talked on the invalidation of election results as well.
These leaders said they would announce a parallel government soon.
