Protest launched to criticize Pakistan’s interference in Afghanistan

Mohammad Parwiz Arian

KABUL: Hundreds of people, including men and women, set a large demonstration in front of Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul to protest what they call “Pakistan’s interference in Afghanistan”.

The protestors were also chanting for “Freedom”. The protest initially began by a number of women activists and joined by dozens of men- who spread to the streets of the capital city. The protestors painted- Pakistan, Pakistan, leave Afghanistan- on a banner carrying with themselves.

According to reports, the Taliban fighters prevented the journalists to cover the scene of the demonstration. The reports also said that several journalists were beaten and slashed by the forces of the Islamic Movement of Taliban.

This comes as a number of women activists earlier staged demonstration in support of the preservation of their achievements gained in the past 20-year.

However, the Taliban leaders have constantly pledged to provide women with rights given based on Islamic Regulation.
