AT-KABUL: Six passengers were killed and more than 20 critically injured, Thursday, in a traffic accident of two vehicles in southern Zabul province of the country, local officials said.

A passenger bus bounded to southern Kandahar from Kabul crushed into a tanker truck in Shajoy district of the province this morning.

At least six onboard bus passengers lost their lives and more than 20 were shifted to nearby hospital soon after the incident took place by security forces for treatment, district police chief, Mohammaddullah, told Afghanistan Times.

“17 of the injured rushed to hospital were in critical condition” he said, adding women and minors were among the victims.

Reckless driving, poor vehicle conditions, and damaged roads are blamed to be main causes behind the deadly road accident in Afghanistan.
