AT-KABUL: A suicide blast carried out by a foreign women killed three children and an operative of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in eastern Nangarhar province, said a local official on Friday.
Ataullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor office, told Afghanistan Times that Afghan forces during a search operation in Doronta area of Sorkhrod district of Nangarhar the other night arrested nine foreigners, including five men, a woman and three children. “When Afghan forces wanted to transfer the foreigners to the NDS headquarters for investigations, the arrested woman detonated her explosives and killed the three children and an NDS operative,” he added.
He said that nationality of the arrested foreigners was not clear. “However the initial investigations showed that the arrested persons were speaking Russian,” Khogyani added.
