Seven Daesh, three Taliban insurgents arrested in Nangarhar

AT-KABUL: At least seven members of the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group and three Taliban militants were detained by the security forces in eastern Nangarhar province, local officials said on Wednesday.

Provincial police Chief Fazl Ahmad Sherzad said: “We arrested the militants in Kot and Haska Mina districts along with their weapons.”

He added that the arrested people were residents of Nangarhar, Helmand and Samangan provinces.

Separately he said that the security forces had recently seized 340 types of weapons, ammunition and explosives in different areas of Nangarhar province.

The weapons and explosives were handed to over to the Disbandment of Illegal Armed Groups (DIAG) process on Wednesday, Sherzad said.

The armed opposition groups are yet to comment on the incidents.
