Seven Taliban killed in Ghor

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Security forces killed seven Taliban militants and wounded 11 others when they attacked the Taiwara district of western Ghor province, an official said Monday.

“Dozens of Taliban, led by their shadow governor Maulavi Taimour, attacked the Taiwara district with heavy and light weapons around 1:00am,” Pajhwok Afghan News quoted provincial governor Ghulam Nasir Khazeh, as saying.

The security forces gave a tit-for-tat response to the Taliban attack, he said, adding that the clash between security forces and the Talban militants continued for more than three hours.

“The Afghan National Army supplied necessary equipment for the forces in the district,” he said, adding that situation is under control now.

He added that the Taliban insurgents are making efforts to win public support, aimed at continuing their evil designs, but their efforts had been frustrated as the people rejected to support them.
