The explosion occurred in 1st Police District of Jalalabad city near Behsood Bridge, where the Hezb-e-Islami political party held a gathering at around 01:15pm local time.
The former Jihadi commander, and the leader of Hezb-e-Islami party, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, was not hurt in the blast.
The political party spokesman, Nadir Afghan, said the bombing occurred at the end of the session, when the participants were leaving the site.
“Six participants embraced martyrdom and around ten others received injuries in the blast,” he added.
