Suicide bomber kills six outside Pul-e-Charkhi prison
At least six people embraced martyrdom and 10 others were wounded after a suicide bomber blew himself up outside the Pul-e-Charkhi prison in the outskirts of Kabul on Wednesday morning, authorities said, with no immediate claim of responsibility.
Basir Mujahid, spokesman for the Kabul police, said that the bomber struck near gate of Pul-e-Charkhi prison ramming a minibus carrying staff of Pul-e-Charkhi prisonat around 7:40am.
He said four staff members of the Pul-e-Charkhi prison embraced martyrdom and six others wounded in the suicide bombing.
Department of Prisons and Detention Centersat the Ministry of Interior said the attacker was spotted near a checkpoint before he could detonate his explosive-laden vest.
However, it said sevenpeople were killed and eight wounded in the blast.
Three children were among the wounded.
Wahidullah Majroh, spokesman of the health ministry,confirmed that ten wounded were transferred to hospital from the blast scene.
