Taliban blamed for supporting terrorist groups in Afghanistan

KABUL: Briefing at the UN Security Council in New York, Adela Raz, Permanent Representatives of Afghanistan to United Nations has blamed the Taliban militants for providing the circumstance to ISI-K and al-Qaeda extremist groups’ subversive acts in Afghanistan.

Raz has expressed appreciation to the UN Assistant Mission’s multi-dimensions support to Afghanistan.

The diplomat has termed the past five year’s plans, legislation and agreement vital important for Afghanistan.  

Talking about Afghan government’s plan and strategy regarding peace negotiation, Raz has praised the International Community for the support to the peace process. 

“We welcome efforts of our regional and int’l partners in seeking to facilitate an environment for direct talks between the government and the Taliban, but we remain firm that a willingness to move this process can only come in the form of an immediate ceasefire by the Taliban,” she added.

She has expressed concerns about the presence’s of AL-Qaeda and Daesh militants in Afghanistan.

This comes as one of the four main factors of peace talks with the Taliban is that Afghanistan should not be used as a threat by other terrorist groups against the US and allies.
