Taliban kill top Daesh commander in Farah

AT-KABUL: A key commander of Daesh also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria terrorist group was killed in a Taliban attack in western Farah province, local official said.

He was killed earlier in the Taliban attack in Golestan district, district governor Ajmal Zahid conformed Sunday.

“The commander was identified as Abdul Razaq Mehdi, who was in charge of training suicide attackers,” Zahid said.

He added that the district (Golestan) shares long border with southern Helmand province and therefore Taliban and Daesh terrorists can easily enter the district.

He was also involved in different terrorists activities in the district including recruiting insurgents to the group in the past two years, Zahid stated.

It worth to mention the two group, Taliban insurgents and Daesh affiliates started attacking to each  other since last year.

At least six Taliban insurgents were killed and three others were injured in latest clashes by Daesh fighters in eastern Nangarhar province officials said earlier this year.

The clashes occurred in Achin district, while Taliban wanted to attack on houses of Daesh affiliates targeted by terrorists (Daesh) district police chief said.
