AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A traffic accident in Qom city of Iran left 20 Afghan refugees dead, Iranian media reported.
Iran’s state TV said that the incident took place on Sunday evening, when a bus carrying Afghan refugees overtook a truck. “A bus, a car and truck were involved in the accident,” the television network reported.
It added that all the victims of the accident were Afghan refugees, who had illegally entered the country.
The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations (MoRR) confirmed the incident. It said that the incident took place on Highway between Tehran and Qom on Sunday evening.
The MoRR in a statement issued on Monday said that the wounded people have been admitted to a local hospital. It added that the MoRR has sent a delegation to Iran to investigate the incident.
