Tribal elders, ulema in Kandahar lend support to ANSF

AT-Kabul: Tribal chieftains and religious scholars from southern Kandahar province expressed their support for Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF).

The ulema and tribal elders in a gathering on Sunday asked people to support security forces in their efforts to bring lasting peace to the country.

Kandahar Ulema Council head, Maulvi Obaidullah, called on all Afghans to strengthen their unity. “Afghan masses should lend their all-out support to their security forces to subdue militancy,” he said. He added that Afghanistan has now built its own security forces. “Thus, we should back our security forces to protect their country’s soil in a better manner,” he said.

Maulvi Obaidullah said that the war of Taliban against Afghan forces was in negation of Islamic instructions.

Other speakers of the event also urged people to support Afghan forces and play their role in reconstruction of this war-hit country.
