KABUL: The kidnapped young cricketer “Ahmad Quraishi” and another child have been released during an operation in eastern Nangarhar province with promises from a young Afghan security official that “kidnapping won’t be left unanswered at all.”
After Quraishi’s release, Deputy Security for Interior Ministry, Gen. Khoshal Sadat said “our young cricketer Ahmad Quraishi is freed and police have taken him home. As per our promise, his case was strictly followed.” He promised that kidnapping women be left unanswered at all.
He said Quraishi was kidnapped several days ago from Jalalabad, the provincial capital city of Nangarhar province, and had freed on Monday night during Special Security Forces crackdown in Behsod district.
Quraishi was taken away forcefully by unknown individuals several days ago while on his way to home from a cricket practicing bout.
Meanwhile, provincial police in cooperation with locality officials and elder have released another child from kidnappers’ locked-up in Batikot district of the same province.
Provincial Governor Spokesman Attaullah Khogianai said Rahihanullah 11-year old child, who was kidnapped in Batikot district around four months ago, was freed with efforts of district governor of Batikot and local security forces during an operation on Tuesday morning.
Two people were detained in kidnaping connection, and the child reunited with his family members, the spokesman added.
