Two civilians killed, 18 wounded in Nangarhar blast

AT-KABUL:  At least two civilians were killed and 18 others were wounded, after a suicide bomber blew himself up in eastern Nanagarhar province Saturday morning, said officials.

Provincial spokesman Attaullah Khogianai said that a suicide bomber detonated his explosives in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital at around 10:00am, in which two people were killed and 18 others were injured.

He said that the suicide bomber target was tribal elder Hayat Khan, who survived from the incident.

Wounded people of the incident rushed to nearby hospital for treatment and health condition of most of them reported well, he added.

He said that the suicide bomber identified before reaching target and was shot and injured by Hayat Khan’s guards, but despite injury bomber succeeded to detonate explosives- packed vested near tribal elder vehicle.

According to report Hayat Khan is one of the key uprisers against Daesh fighters in Kot district of Nangarhar province.

No any armed group including Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
