Two suicide bombers held in Herat

AT-KABUL: Afghan security forces detained two would-be suicide bombers in western Herat province who had disguised themselves in women’s dress.

Mehdi Rezaie, a spokesman for the Afghan army in Herat, said that Afghan forces arrested the suicide bombers in Guzara district of the province.

He added that the bombers wanted to target security forces on airport road in Herat city.

Rezaie said that the arrested men had confessed that they wanted to carry out terrorist attacks.

Taliban haven’t commented about the arrestment so far.

Suicide bombers frequently disguise in women’s dress to carry out terrorist attacks.

Herat is a relatively volatile province, where militants are active in its remote districts.
