Wolesi Jirga approves MoUs with UAE, China

Abdul Zuhoor Qayomi-KABUL: The Wolesi Jirga (WJ) or Lower House of the parliament on Monday approved three memorandums of understanding (MoU) with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and China.
The security deal with the UAE includes a preface and 15 articles and exchange of the criminals with the UAE includes 20 articles. The defense cooperation deal between the defense ministries of Afghanistan and China was also approved unanimously.

The deputy chief of International Relations Committee (IRC) Muhammad Dawood Kalakani told Afghanistan Times that the MoUs cover social, political and security areas.

Exchange of intelligence information on terrorism and cooperation in anti-narcotics campaigns between Kabul and Dubai are the main parts of the agreements, he said.

Secretary of Defense Committee of the WJ, Semen Barekzai, told Afghanistan Times that Beijing will donate 3.5 million yuan to Afghan defense ministry.
