Young man commits suicide in Faryab

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A young man aged 27-year old has hanged himself to death in Maimana city, the capital of northwestern Faryab province, an official said on Monday.

Gen. Mohammad Nader, provincial crime branch chief told Pajhwok Afghan News, Abdul Jalil, 27, hanged himself in Tandorak area of the third police district of Maimana today (Monday) morning. He said Jalil was suffering from epilepsy.

Raaz Mohammad, a local representative confirmed the incident and he also said that the man was suffering from epilepsy.

The man had three children and was running a Rickshaw in Maimana city, he said. He was resting in home from the last three days but ended his life this morning.

This comes as last month a university student in northeastern Badakhshan province committed suicide by hanging himself.

Naik Mohammad Nazri, the governor’s spokesman said that Bismellah, 25, was third year student at the Social Sciences Department of Badakhshan University.

Earlier, a female student Shukria, 20, hanged herself. She was first year student at the Social Sciences Department of Badakhshan University.

Committing suicide is now getting increase as in the past several such reports took surfaced in media. Previously, a 24-year-old man committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after saying “sorry” to friends on Facebook in western Herat province.

Rashid Aria uploaded his last video on his Facebook account, saying “sorry” to all friends and relatives for taking the extreme step. Aria said he was committing suicide after losing hope in life.

He also said in his video that he had travelled to many countries but it had no positive impact on life.

Herat civil hospital officials said they received the body of Rashid Aria with a bullet hole in his head.

Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai, the hospital’s spokesman in that time said the young man had been suffering from mental illness.
