KABUL: Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Idrees Zaman met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Kabul Mr. Gabriel Firan on Sunday, where both sides discussed prospective of Consultative Loya Jirga to be convened on end of March.
Deputy Minister Zaman, beside appreciating Spain’s support and assistance to Afghanistan in civil and military spheres, shed light on the Consultative Peace Jirga and the 3rd Kabul Process Meeting to be held soon in Kabul, a statement from Foreign Ministry said.
Both sides discussed good relations between the two countries, the Peace Process, signing of the Bilateral Strategic Cooperation Agreement, and political situation of Afghanistan and the region.
In separate meeting, Zaman met the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Country Office Representative Mr. Mark Colhoun.
Mr. Colhoun shed light on the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs Ministerial Meeting to be held in Vienna, Austria from March 24-28, 2019 and added that the meeting would recall Afghanistan’s achievements over the last 10 years in counter narcotics and discuss UNODC future plans for Afghanistan.
Deputy Minister Zaman stated that a high level delegation from the Afghan Government would also attend this meeting.
