10 dead in suicide bombing on Jalalabad customs
AT-KABUL: At least ten people were killed and over 42 others injured on Sunday after a suicide car bombing and the ensuing gunfight in customs’ finance department in Jalalabad city in eastern Nangarhar province, said officials.
Hazrat Husain Mashriqiwal Nangarhar police spokesman said that two suicide attackers carried out a car bomber attack and six others entered inside Customs’ finance department. After five hours of firefight, all six attackers were killed. He said that 10 people including one policeman were killed and 42 others including five policemen wounded.
Nangarhar Governor Spokesman AtaullahKhogiani said that initially a car bomber rammed into customs’ finance department in Jalalabad city, following which several gunmen stormed the department and started firing. 10 people were killed and over 40 others wounded in the attack.
According to him, clashes continued between Afghan forces and assailants in the customs’ finance department for several hours.
