KABUL: At least 10 Taliban militants have been killed and 16 others received injuries during an airstrike pondered them in eastern Logar province on Saturday night, officials said on Sunday.
As part of active defense posture, Afghan aerial forces targeted Taliban insurgents in Charkh district of the province, in which 10 rebels were killed and 16 others wounded, Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
He said that heavy machine gun of the group was also destroyed during crackdown in the district.
The killed and wounded Taliban fighters were involved in recent attack on the Afghan National Army checkpoints located near Charkh district center, he added.
According to some report, nine security forces were martyred in the attack.
