110 Taliban militants killed in fresh crackdowns

KABUL: At least 110 Taliban insurgents were killed and 81 others were wounded during latest operations carried out by the Afghan security forces in different provinces in the last past 24 hours, defense ministry said on Monday.

The mass number of Taliban insurgents were killed in counterattack in Ghazni, Nangarhar, Zabul, Herat, Kunduz, Baghlan, Badakhshan and Kandahar provinces, the ministry said in a statement.

Moreover, 135 rounds of mines, which were planted by Taliban on public roadsides, were also discovered and defused.  

According to the statement, some ammunition and weapons were also destroyed during the raids.
