115 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 115 militants were killed and 105 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Kapisa, Paktia , Paktika, Ghazni, Kandahar , Badghis , Baghlan , Faryab, Logar, Urzgan, Ghor and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 115 Taliban including four Daesh affiliates were killed and 105 others were injured.

Three insurgents were arrested during operation and handed over to judicial organs for inquiry, mentioned statement.

During these operations, in Janikhil, Ahmadkhil and Jaji Aryob districts of Paktia province, 48 insurgents were killed and 30 others wounded, in Taywara district of Ghor, 20 insurgents were killed and 34 wounded, in Nawah and Sangeen districts of Helmand province, 22 Taliban terrorists were killed and 12 others were wounded, in center of Urzgan province eight rebels were killed and 15 other wounded.

Similarly, in Dehyak and Giro districts of Ghazni, seven insurgents were killed and 14 others injured, in Charkh district of Logar two rebels were killed and three others wounded. Also four insurgents killed and Gomal district of Paktika and four Daesh fighters were were killed in Achin district of Nangarhar.

In past 24 hours, 20 planed clearing operations, 22 special operations and two night raids conducted in 13 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 127 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 34 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
