AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least 12 residents of the Jaghori district of the southern Ghazni province who were traveling in two corolla cars were kidnapped by the Taliban insurgents on Wednesday, official said.
Shafiq Nang, the provincial governor spokesman, said that the insurgents kidnapped 12 people in Qarabagh district, while they were travelling from Jaghori district to the Ghanzi city, the provincial capital.
He said that two kidnapped were released while others were still in the hands of the Taliban insurgents.
All the kidnapped passengers were civilians, Jaghori district chief, Zafar Sharif said, however added that the two managed to escape. He also said that the militants shifted the kidnapped civilians to Gilan district. However, the Taliban insurgents did not comment on the incident so far.
