AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The Afghan security forces have killed at least 12 Taliban insurgents after clash erupted between them and militants loyal to the Taliban group in northern Jawzjan province, officials said on Sunday.
The clash took place in Aqcha district in which Taliban insurgents received causalities.
The Provincial Governor Spokesman, Mohammad Reza Ghafooori confirmed the news, saying that these Taliban fighters were killed after they (Taliban) attacked security force in the district.
In addition to that, eight other Taliban insurgents were wounded in the clash, he added.
“An Afghan security force killed and two others wounded in the attack,” he said, adding that four villages of the district had been cleared for Taliban presence.
Moreover, he informed of the ongoing operation in other parts of the district to fully eliminate militants.
So far there is no comment from the Taliban insurgent in this regard.
