KABUL: At least 14 Taliban fighters have been killed and nine others received injures during ground and air operations carried out in southern Ghazni province, official said Monday.
Afghan Air Force carried out an airstrike on a Taliban headquarter in Mostoufi village, capital of Ghazni province, in which six Taliban militants were killed and nine others wounded.
Ministry of Defense in a statement said military deputy of Taliban for Ghazni, Mawlawee Shinwari was among killed militants.
Similarly, a joint operation conducted by Afghan National Defense and Security Forces and Resolute Support Mission in Waali village, Qarabagh district of Ghazni, in which eight Taliban terrorists were killed, noted the statement.
According to statement two Taliban leaders Mawlawee Zahid and Munawar were among also killed rebels.
The militants came under attack while they were extorting money from people in Qarabagh area, the statement added.
